Welcome to the slide decks
A short guide to driving a deck
Press → or Space to begin.
Forward, back, and the bird’s-eye view.
Press Space to go through the whole deck in order. Or use → and ← to step forward and back.
The arrows all move one slide at a time, so → and ↓ do the same thing. The bar along the bottom shows how far through you are.
A deck is grouped into sections. This slide is in the “Moving around” section.
The faint label in the bottom-right names the section you are in, so you keep your place in a long deck.
To jump straight to another section, use the overview on the next slide.
Press Esc or O for the overview grid. Every slide shrinks to a thumbnail, with each section in its own column: sections across, slides down.
Click any thumbnail to jump straight there. This is the quick way to move between sections.
The menu button in the bottom-left corner opens the same slides as a list.
A couple of things slides can do.
Some slides build up step by step. Each press of → brings in the next piece rather than moving on.
First this point appears,
then this one,
then the last one, before the next slide.
Press S to open the speaker view: the current slide, the next one, your notes, and a timer, in a separate window. The audience never sees it.
This slide has a note. Press S now to read it.
For when you are in front of an audience.
Full screen
Press F to fill the screen, and Esc to leave it.
Blank the screen
Press B or . to black out the screen when you want all eyes on you, and again to bring it back.
Press ? at any time for the full list of keyboard shortcuts.
The ones worth knowing: → ← ↓ ↑ move, Esc overview, S notes, F full screen, B blank, ? help.
On the public site at slides.causalmap.app, click Home in the top-right corner to return to the list of all decks.
That is everything. Pick a deck from the home page and press →.
